Haryana CM Khattar Urges on Making Chandigarh As Its Capital

The latest news on the development of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula that is collectively known as the tri-city was the topic of concern in the recently held panel discussion. Haryana’s Chief Minister ManoharLalKhattar in a discussion with the Punjab Chief Minister Capt.Amrinder Singh and other members present at the panel showed his concern over the development of tri-city and proposed to make Chandigarh as the capital of Haryana and solve the water crisis that has been faced by both the states to favor the decision for the betterment of both the states.

Speaking at the panel, Khattar presented his views over how to solve the issues of water crisis and said – “Both Haryana and Punjab should cooperate with each other to resolve various inter-state water issues in the interest of people of both states. Punjab should not make it a prestige issue. Issues related to water between states can be solved by dialogue. I did not like to refer to the waters issue on this platform as the development of tri-city was the main focus of today’s panel discussion but the remarks made earlier by the Punjab Chief Minister,Capt. Amarinder Singh, have forced me to make a comment on this.”

There are several committees handling different issues concerning the development of the states, but it looks like there are several projects and issues that have to be taken care off.

The discussion that was held to improve the infrastructure of states resulted in a discussion of water crisis. With a hope to improve the situation, Khattar has been involved in various water projects in an effort to implement his ideas and thoughts.

Khattar in one of his statements stressed over the issue and highlighted important points saying, “The issue of Haryana getting its share of river water through Hansi-Butana canal is also hanging fire since long as a result, the southern districts, especially Mahendergarh, Rewari and Nuh, are facing water scarcity.”

The CM is all set to solve the issues and lead his state to urbanization, but the urge of CM seems to have gone beneath the development of tri-city when Singh dismissed his proposal.
